Sim City 3000 was the greatest game ever created for a computer.
Sim City 4 was a disappointment.
Sim City 5 (or just SimCity on the official web site) is coming in 2013. Will it be the new “greatest game ever?” Or another dog?
P.S. “Sim City” is not the same as “The Sims.”

I’d say if Sim City’s new Glassbox engine can live up to the promise of what I’ve been reading, things like here http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2012/03/20/simulation-stimulation-a-peek-into-sim-citys-glassbox/ it could be pretty amazing.
I never played anything past 2000, but I loved both Sim City and 2000. Also I thought Sim Earth and Sim Ant were very engrossing, Earth especially so, very fun playing around with trying to get the atmosphere just right for certain plants and animals.

SimCity probably won’t have the same audience it used to. With StarCraft and Civilization, I think people will want to invade other cities once their city is complete.
