Wow – excellent point. But when I think about it, “God loves you and has a wonderful plan for your life” used to be a stock witnessing line for many evangelicals, not just the prosperity folks. I remember Christians witnessing in the street saying that to me back in the ’70s.
Thinking about history for a minute, wasn’t the way many of the Christians died so peacefully in the arena a testimony to some of the Romans in the audience, which eventually led them to become believers?
Thanks for your comment, but I don’t get it. How does the fact that becoming a Christian often leads to persecution rather than prosperity lead one to atheism?
